I just gave the go ahead to Corrections Director to proceed with Gardner's execution. May God grant him the mercy he denied his victims.

In June 2010, Twitter came of age.

People have already been fired, marriage has been proposed and lovers have been dumped.  But on 18th June, at two minutes past midnight, Utah’s Attorney General Mark Shurtleff used his iPhone to tweet an announcement of the death of convicted murder Ronnie Lee Gardner.

Around 7,000 people follow Mr Shurtleff on Twitter, but the message was quickly picked up and retweeted around the world to a far wider audience.
